Why are you taking all these photos of Whiskey?
It started with good intentions, a homework project of sorts. Looking for an outlet to practice working with lighting, set design, and product photography. While enjoying a drink one Wednesday afternoon, I took my first shot - photo, that is - of a Johnnie Walker Black Label with some small lighting direction along with an intriguing background of a tribal warrior punching a bear in the face; And thus, Whiskey Wednesday was born. Now, about every other Wednesday night, I do my best to review a new spirit, and take a photo that give some semblance to how I feel about the drink. It’s a fun project that’s helped me in many more ways than I thought possible, from photography techniques to critique and writing, even out to thoughts about responsible consumption. I hope that I can inspire my readers and viewers with accurate information along with a good bit of inspiration on how to not let the juice take your life away.
