I can't even begin to describe how surreal it was to see something that has been at the top of my bucket list for almost my entire life, from my own backyard within a month of moving into this home.
Peering out from the inside of my bedroom window, I thought it was such a bummer the city lights were so bright they were blocking out the borealis tonight; it was almost that easy to forget I've never seen anything but stars and utter darkness from that window any night prior. Seeing a faint shimmer run along the pale shroud was what really made me jump up and run outside to catch the full view.
Seeing the Aurora Borealis from my cozy little homestead in Northern Utah was amazing in many aspects, but the most profound was how it makes all the problems around just utterly melt away, and for a good few minutes I forgot myself in cosmic awe.
